    Dear Students,
I hope you're doing well and staying healthy as we begin our new academic year in the Department of Political Science. On behalf of the faculty and staff, I welcome you to our vibrant academic community. Political Science is a discipline that seeks to understand the complexities of political systems and encourages critical thinking and active engagement with the world around us. As political science students, you embark on a journey that will broaden your intellectual horizons and empower you to contribute meaningfully to society.

Our department is committed to providing a rigorous and enriching academic experience. Our distinguished faculty members bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom, and we encourage you to take full advantage of their mentorship and guidance. In addition to a robust curriculum, we offer various extracurricular activities, seminars, workshops, field investigation, and academic writing skills that will complement your academic learning and foster holistic development. In the spirit of scholarly inquiry, I urge you to participate actively in class discussions, engage with your peers, develop a network with the alumni, and explore opportunities for research and internships. Political Science is not just about theories and concepts but about applying these insights to understand and explain the world. As you navigate your academic journey, remember that the university is not just a place for gaining knowledge but also a space for personal growth and self-discovery.
As members of our academic community, you play a crucial role in shaping the culture of our department. The strength of our department lies in the diversity of thought and experiences that each of you brings to the table. I encourage you to embrace diversity, respect differing opinions, and foster a culture of open dialogue.
Each of you has the potential to make a significant impact in political science and beyond. Seize the opportunities that come your way, challenge yourselves, and strive for excellence. The faculty and staff are here to support you in your academic pursuits, and I want to reassure you that we are committed to your success. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us whenever you need guidance or help.

    Best Wishes
    Dilip Gogoi, Ph.D.
