About

Bhaskar Jyoti Deka graduated from the Department of Political Science of North Lakhimpur College, Dibrugarh University. He completed his Post-Graduation in Politics (with Specialization in International Relations) at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He pursued his MPhil from the Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament (CIPOD), School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He submitted his MPhil dissertation on Conceptualising Environmental Security: A Study of Water Resources and Insecurity. He completed his doctoral research at the Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament (CIPOD), School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi on Global Frameworks for Water Governance: Sustainability, Rights and Commodification. He published research articles in international journals like Asian Affairs/The Royal Society for Asian Affairs, Strategic Analysis, etc. His articles appeared in magazines like World Focus (English) and Satsori (Assamese). He occasionally contributes opinion pieces to select Assamese newspapers. Some of his short stories were published by the popular Assamese magazine Gariashi. His PhD research was funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
